Jointly Shaping Digitisation
On 19 September 2019, the second Real Estate Data Summit (REDS) took place in Berlin under the title “data. flow. efficiency”. More than 30 participants from 22 companies, mainly board members and managing directors, defined a joint roadmap for the creation of industry-wide data standards. The new REDS members include the major real estate service providers Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), CBRE and Ernst & Young (EY) as well as the leading asset managers Allianz Real Estate and LEG Wohnen.
REDS members are especially frustrated by the difficulty of exchanging data between different system environments. It should become possible to standardise this data via industry-wide data standards and simplified data exchange. As a concrete example of an industry-wide standard, REDS is currently working on a unified electronic property teaser. The goal is to provide potential bidders with a dataset with identical categories. The data required may be extracted from PDF documents by artificial intelligence.
The next REDS is planned for the year 2020 to establish an annual cycle.
Information on REDS 2019 can also be found in our press release.
